I came from a violent marriage a long time ago and never ever got into anything like that again, but that didn't stop me from witnessing it. While I have felt bad for the 'hen-pecked' husband and even seen some instances where a woman would go too far in harassing a man just because she knew he wouldn't hit her, it bothered me, but I've never done anything about it. One night though, my gay friend came in to see me and his boyfriend had beaten the living daylights out of him. Blood, bruises, scratches, he looked like one of those domestic violence posters personified. I was terrified for him and I cleaned him up and healed what I could, but he wouldn't report it. He wouldn't go to a hospital because he didn't want them reporting it. He simply tried not to make his boyfriend so mad again. I've never seen anything so brutal in my life. I wish we spoke more openly about men being abused and beaten. We can't be feminists and blame men and only protect women. We need to be humanists and make sure everyone everywhere is treated with love and dignity and they have resources to turn to when those rights are violated. I wish men weren't ashamed to report it.Lovelytl33https://www.blogger.com/profile/16906929761572821031noreply@blogger.com
