I recently got stationed at SHAPE, as well (late September), so it's interesting to read things from a fellow newcomer's perspective. My daughter, who is also four, started at the Belgian school in January. Give your son a little time and he'll even be confident enough to correct your French - hasn't even been two months, and my daughter does ;). Our youngest was 4 when we arrived here in France - I still remember dropping her off that first day at French Pre-K at the maternelle. Being greeted by her French teacher - being shued away and truly wondering how her day would go - not understanding a word of French! I laugh when I look back on it now - as for weeks I wondered how she played with her friends - all of them speaking French with her and her answering in the only language she knew at the time - English. But she made friends, and went each day. Yes, like your son...we got the daily "I don't want to go" for awhile - but it decreased...it was all about adjustment. Fast forward 2 years - we are now in CP/1st grade and she wishes to return to maternelle to "Miss Karine" where they played!! Good luck - love reading about your move!American Mom in Bordeauxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08510479682242727034noreply@blogger.com
